Sobre Marshall Grove:
I have a broad range of elementary-level teaching experience in multiple settings across the globe, working with diverse cultures, and consider myself to be a respectful and adaptable person.
I obtained my Honours degree in Thailand at an internationally recognized university, SIAM technology college, and had the opportunity to put my teaching into practice as I worked at a Private Catholic school for Thai nationals for 2 years. I taught English lessons to Early years students as well as Key stage 1 student, who had English as a second or third language. Additionally, I taught English as an additional language online to students based in China and Thailand, during the pandemic. These opportunities provided me with valuable skills such as, teaching students whose first language is not English; planning lessons according to an individual child’s abilities and needs; managing lesson times accordingly, and meeting learning objectives through various strategies and use of materials. I am currently a Homeroom Teacher at Galaxy International School of Uganda and am leading the learning of 12 students in the Year 4 class. I plan lessons in line with the Cambridge Curriculum and implement innovative and interactive lessons with technology in the classroom. Within three months of joining the school, I participated in a staff celebratory dance, planned school events, held parent-teacher conferences, and led clubs. I use Project-based learning in my classes, considering each child’s needs and abilities. This approach to learning I believe, helps children understand the work better and learn crucial life skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking, and persevering. My educational philosophy is that each child is unique and deserves an engaging learning environment where they can develop their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills. I aspire to provide children with an environment and opportunities to reach their greatest potential. I aim to create a safe environment where students are encouraged to express themselves freely and take risks. As an important mentor to young people, I focus on having an open mind and a positive approach in the classroom and having high standards for myself. I believe that my role and responsibility to the children and the community is to be consistent, put in the effort, and have a loving attitude, in hopes that I might eventually inspire and promote these qualities within the students. I would like the chance to put my diverse set of experiences and abilities to work in your setting. The classroom will be exciting and full of opportunities because of my passion for teaching and compassion for all students.
