    Industrial Engineer - Field Planning & Engineering

    About the Role:

    FedEx Express is the world's largest express transportation company, providing fast and reliable delivery to over 220 countries and territories. As an Industrial Engineer - Field Planning & Engineering, you will play a key role in optimizing operations, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

    Your Key Responsibilities:

    1. Develop and implement short-term and long-range plans for expansion, staffing, equipment, vehicles, and products at operations sites.
    2. Provide technical training to personnel on topics such as operations, manning, contingency planning, productivity, cost effectiveness, and manpower scheduling.
    3. Monitor productivity, service, and cost performance across all operations areas and assist in implementing required changes.
    4. Maintain communication between operations and corporate departments to provide technical expertise on facility requests, including lease terminations, new locations, five-year planning, equipment justification, layout, vehicle planning, and cost justification.
    5. Assist in studies to implement innovative engineering concepts into operations, producing benefits for FedEx and our customers.
    6. Produce operational business requirement specifications and contribute to business cases.
    7. Create and manage project plans, monitor progress, and adjust schedules as needed.
    8. Present project developments and results to upper management.

    Your Background:

    1. Degree or professional qualification in Industrial Engineering or a quantitative discipline.
    2. Excellent command of English, both written and spoken; additional European languages are a plus (e.g., German, French, Spanish, Italian).
    3. Strong analytical skills.
    4. High MS Excel skills; formulas, dynamic charts, and macros programming skills (e.g., VBA for Excel, Python) are a plus.
    5. Data analysis skills (e.g., SQL, MS PowerBI) are a plus.
    6. Project management certification (e.g., PMI or PRINCE2) is a plus.
    7. Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Logistics is a plus.
    8. At least two years of experience working as an operation engineer in manufacturing or services areas, supporting operations, or positions like Quality Engineer, Operations Engineer, Process Engineer, or continuous improvement engineers.
