    We are looking for a Database Administrator to join our team at GrabJobs.

    The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years of experience working with large distributed database systems, focusing on performance and tuning. They should also have proven experience with MongoDB scaling across data centers or an in-depth understanding of MongoDB HA strategies, including replica sets and sharding.

    The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining multiple database servers across various environments through Atlas and Ops Manager, ensuring consistent availability and performance. They will design and implement redundancy and fail-over strategies, monitor database performance, tune, and identify areas for improvement.

    In addition, the Database Administrator will configure and maintain replica sets and sharded clusters to support scalability and resilience, define and implement backup strategies per data retention requirements, optimize queries and indexing strategies, and enforce best practices for data security.

    The ideal candidate will have strong operational experience with NoSQL Data Modeling, deep knowledge of DB performance/scaling concepts and tuning best practices, and the ability to write and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts. They should also have a Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

    The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, able to work independently or within a team in a high-demand and dynamic environment, and have excellent written and verbal skills. They should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced development environment with a broad scope of responsibilities and have strong communication skills and mastery of English language.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and maintain multiple database servers across various environments through Atlas and Ops Manager, ensuring consistent availability and performance.

    • Use automation tools to streamline database management processes.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 3+ years of experience working with large distributed database systems with focus on performance & tuning.
    • Proven experience with MongoDB scaling across data centers or in-depth understanding of MongoDB HA strategies, including replica sets and sharding.
    • Strong operational experience with NoSQL Data Modeling.
    • Deep knowledge of DB performance/scaling concepts and tuning best practices.
    • Ability to write and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts (considered an advantage).
