Senior Accountant, Financial Accounting - KBS

Role Description

The Senior Accountant role is part of a dynamic and integrated Finance function delivering operational Finance specialist services. The role will report to the Financial Accounting Lead and will work with internal and external partners to ensure processes are performed in accordance with performance and quality standards

This position is focused on assisting with closing and reporting and adherence to statutory requirements


Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in maintenance, processing and production of month / year end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, journals and associated underlying schedules.
  • Support the preparation and review of period close entries, and general ledger accounts reconciliation and analysis
  • Support for the preparation and review of statutory accounts and financial statements
  • Support Intercompany (IC) reconciliations and disputes resolution
  • Support the production and review of balance sheets
  • Support to maintain the fixed assets register
  • Support with audit request coming through to the Regional Delivery Centre (RDC)
  • Support with controls compliance and other internal controls requirements
  • Responsible for coordinating month end and quarter end reporting schedules
  • Accountable for the quarterly review of account analysis
  • Maintaining knowledge management and documentation to ensure managers and staff always have access to current and compliant documents and guidance
  • Maintain close relationships with customer/ 3rd party deliver partner teams to ensure responsiveness to their needs, track service delivery and performance, and support escalation and resolution of any performance issues
  • Develop sound professional working relationships with colleagues across KBS and Local Business, building their confidence and acquiring an understanding of the business
Role Requirements

  • Proven experience as an accountant
  • Experience of producing yearend accounts and preparation for audit.
  • Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounting
  • Fluent English speaker, accurately able to read and write English and to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work in a changing and flexible organisation.
  • Willingness to work flexibly across geographic time zones during peak periods such as period end.
