Airbus GBS in Lisbon is now recruiting an
Accounting Manager for North America Region.


Airbus is transferring accounting-related activities and other support activities into the Airbus Global Business Service (GBS) center in Lisbon, Portugal, as of 2021.


Airbus GBS intends also to define and implement its own Make/Buy policy and thus will have to manage its own Supply Chain made of Services and Goods suppliers from all over the world.


In her/his role of Accounting Manager - North America Region
, the jobholder will:

  • Lead leaders and respective teams, delivering accounting services in the area of Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables and General Ledger for selected companies in the Airbus group located in North America, in line with the required performance defined in the SLA and in full compliance with the Airbus Accounting Process. General Ledger and other accounting relevant activities to be ramped up in parallel. The team will be made of approximately 50 accounting professionals.
  • Be coresponsible, for piloting an E2E process, like S2P (Source to Pay) for North America Region.
**In her/his role of
Accounting Manager , the jobholder will**: - interact daily with the selected Airbus entities and Accounting stakeholders of the Airbus Group
- monitor the performance levels (On-time/On-Quality/On-cost delivery) defined for the GBS
- secure that the GBS' companies close in time and in line with the accounting procedures at Airbus
- develop the organization and processes to facilitate continuous improvements and harmonization


Finally, the Accounting Manager will work hand-in-hand with the GBS Procurement Services stream leader and others in order to set up an efficient End-to-End (E2E) process including the implementation of the supporting IT tool(s) with the first target to improve significantly the "Time to Book" and the "Book to Pay" of Airbus suppliers' invoices.


The job holder will report to the HO Integrated Finance & Procurement, and the role will be located in Lisbon, Portugal.


The jobholder will have an Accounting background of 5 to 7 years, experience within a Shared Service environment, and the potential to be developed into Managing and Structuring larger organizations.


In terms of Hard skills, the jobholder will demonstrate knowledge in Accounting Standards such as IFRS, strong understanding on Accounting Process and its monthly interaction from subledger to General Ledger.

He/she will d emonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, and will be fluent in English both written and verbal.

French and/or German would be a plus. He/she will be easily adaptable to the Airbus tools and systems (ex. SAP) and will be used to Google Suite. Continuous improvement and process simplification/standardization skills are also key success factors in the position.


A previous experience in People management of 3 years minimum is required with a natural leadership to embark, engage and retain his/her team leaders and team members.


In terms of Soft skills, before all, the jobholder will be "delivery" oriented with a strong focus on customers satisfaction.

He/she will have a strong ability to convince and influence, communicate effectively. He/she will be a team player and will be comfortable to lead and work with remote working. He/she will always act with integrity and equity, in full compliance with processes and regulations. A specific attention will be brought to the Ethics of the jobholder. In his/her role, he/she is engaging Airbus legally, financially and in terms of image. A strong team spirit and a Pioneering spirit is necessary to be part of this entrepreneurial adventure. Sustainability (environment, forced labour, disability, etc.) will be part of the jobholder's values.

The jobholder may have to travel up to twice a year to countries of Airbus.
