The new employee will join the Research & Development area and will be responsible for the development of new products, including definition of formula and packaging, testing of performance and compatibility, and scale up from laboratory to full scale production, with

a special focus is on the personal care sector.

Applications are primarily in aerosol format but may also include other formats such as bottle, pump, tube, and jar formats.


Main Activities and Responsibilities:


  • Develop external network of ingredient and packaging suppliers and have a comprehensive understanding of ingredients, packaging market and technical details;
  • Monitor new trends in formulations, packaging and products markets and provide own ideas for the use of new ingredients and components, formula development and new product concepts;
  • Develop products based on the requirements specified by the customer in the development brief;
  • Manage own product development projects using best practice in project management and communication tools;
  • Carry out the relevant internal and external product testing (performance, safety, compatibility). Analyse and assess the data received;
  • Provide trial protocols for industrial trials and assist the handover process of new products to full scale production;
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers (information, samples and customer visits);
  • Ensure all work is properly documented in the lab journal and Project Database. Provision of product dossiers based on defined documentation standards;
  • Ensure that the laboratory work is done in accordance to GLP and safety standards and that formulations comply with current, and anticipated future, regulatory
and environmental requirements;

  • Ensure all work is done in line with R&D standard methods and procedures.

We are looking for:


  • Minimum of 2 year's experience of formulating products at a personal care company;
  • University degree in Sciences;
  • Drive, energy and commitment to move projects forward;
  • Knowledge of the product development process for personal care products, from conception to launch;
  • Proficiency in English;
  • Advanced IT literacy in MS Office tools;
  • Technical knowledge and experience in aerosols and personal care formulations will be an advantage;
  • Work well within multifunctional, multicultural and multigeographical teams;
  • Ability to communicate with customers and external services providers;
  • Ability to seek solutions and propose an action plan;
  • Teamwork and ownership;
  • Industry work experience will be an advantage.
