Hello, I'm Bing Ni. I am a PhD candidate in communication studies with a passion for exploring the fields of communication, mass media, film, and fictional writing. I hold a Master's degree in Journalism and Social Communication from the University of Wroclaw, where I focused on film criticism and media research. Currently, I am pursuing my Doctoral degree at the Catholic University of Portugal.

Throughout my academic journey, I have conducted in-depth research, presented at conferences, and published articles. I am skilled in analyzing cultural influences, exploring diverse identities, and examining the social impact of media. I have also gained practical experience through internships, including work at the International Relations Office of Klaipeda State University of Applied Sciences and as a documentary film production assistant at Escombro Films.

Additionally, I have worked as a journalist and news editor at Brno Daily, contributing to content creation, conducting interviews, and managing various digital platforms. My professional experiences have strengthened my communication skills and equipped me with a solid foundation in media production, research, and project coordination.

I hold a Master's degree in Journalism and Social Communication from the University of Wroclaw, where I specialized in film criticism, art journalism, and media research. During my studies, I had the opportunity to explore subjects such as film analysis, cultural influences, and the social impact of media. My master's thesis, which focused on the study of landscapes in the films of Wim Wenders, received exceptional results, reflecting my dedication and proficiency in the field.

In addition to my studies in Poland, I also participated in the Erasmus Exchange Program at Nova University of Lisbon in Portugal. During this program, I delved into contemporary cinema, culture theory, and American representation. This experience broadened my perspective and deepened my understanding of diverse cultural contexts within the realm of communication.

Currently, I am pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Communication Studies at the Catholic University of Portugal. My doctoral research centers around the representation of gay cowboys in Hollywood Westerns from 1946 to 1973. Guided by film studies and queer studies, my research explores various aspects such as masculinity, desire, violence, safe landscapes, and social ideologies. Through this interdisciplinary approach, I aim to contribute to the academic discourse and shed light on the complexities of minority representation in mainstream media.
