I began my journey as a very curious child, always wondering why things were the way they were. This desire to understand how things worked led me to pursue science in high school, where I first discovered programming. At a first glance, I wasn't sure if I enjoy it or not, but as it became more natural to me, things fell into place. Giving me the desire to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, where I quickly realized that Artificial Intelligence was my new wonder. 

I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Control, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence at the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, however I started my master’s in Polytechnique Montréal in Canada, as an Erasmus student for 6 months. From these experiences I have consistently thrived in my coursework and have developed a thorough understanding of machine learning principles and techniques.

 I have completed several projects that have given me hands-on experience with various deep learning frameworks and applications, such as PyThorch and Sklearn in Python. For example, in a Cloudflight Coding Contest about AI, where me and my team placed third nationally. This semester I began to work on my thesis, titled Transformers for the Segmentation of 3D Microscopy Images, which I am very excited about. I also went to the final phase of an hackathon with a project me and my team developed. This project is about minimizing the energy usage in a building using reinforcement learning and deep learning to develop a controller of hvac and heating
