Sobre Rita Fernandes:
I have been working in hospitality since 2011, both abroad and in Portugal, in boutique hotels, city hotels and all inclusive. In the past 4 years I have been working as Assistant General Manager for a multinational hotel chain, where I supported the General Manager leading the hotel and the 130 average employees.
During this period I oversaw the daily operations and services onsite and controlled the ADR, services revenue and overall profitability. I supported department managers in their requests and queries, helping the General Manager to more rapidly respond to all demands. I recruited, coached and motivated, directed and disciplined department supervisors and staff members. I daily supervised that guest’ service was up to standard and identified points of improvement to be discussed later on with head of department and staff. I was responsible for HACCP, health and security, and sustainability, doing criteria inspections frequently. I was able to have an active role, with the support of my General Managers, I was expected to make decisions and have a proactive attitude. I had the opportunity to be acting Director during long periods of time (i.e. 4 months in between General Managers).
In addition to my experience I have a Post Graduate Diploma in International Hospitality Management in Les Roches Marbella. I also have Bachelor in Tourism, Leisure and Heritage in Universidade de Coimbra, having done Erasmus in Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid.
Through these years I have been known for my capacity to work under pressure, outstanding customer service, excellent communication skills, ability to influence and motivate others, creating a healthy working environment and for contributing to hotels employee retention rate.
I am currently looking for a new challenge where I can grow professionally and also add to the company with my professional experience. I would like to help develop staff performance, company goals achievement, elevate guests’ service and improve quality of business. I strive to create a pleasant working environment where people feel appreciated and part of the team.
