The opportunity


EY Transaction Strategy & Execution Team provides services within the domain of mergers and acquisitions, private and public offerings, valuations, business modelling, due diligence, and financial consulting.

Our team of professionals is ideally placed to successfully support corporate transactions.


Our Valuation, Modelling, Economics team helps clients understand the value of their business, their securities, intellectual property, capital equipment, intangibles, and other assets.

The team also provides financial and economic insights that are critical to strategic decision making.


Your key responsibilities


As a Manager in Transaction Strategy and Operations, you will be a vital member of the team managing and executing strategy and operational focused projects.

You'll execute and manage projects across a specific sector, supporting our client service team in developing and executing strategies for transactions.

Part of your role will also involve developing experience across a range of different type of engagements, including pre-deal and post-deal.

Having a commercial mind-set is key to this consulting-based role.


Skills & Attributes for Success

  • Acting as an authoritative advisor, guiding our clients through their strategic decision making and transaction process, providing insights and recommendations affecting M&A deal pricing and representations, providing strategic advice and guidance to key stakeholders;
  • Managing engagement objectives and strategies that meet and exceed our clients' unique needs;
  • Leading a team of junior professionals;
  • Constantly monitoring risk and identifying opportunities to improve our current processes (especially in transaction diligence);
  • Connecting with our clients and building meaningful longterm relationships.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • At least 5 years of experience in professional services (including but not limited to Big 4 or management consulting firm) or similar;
  • The ability to demonstrate intellectual rigor and commercial awareness, combined with firstclass numeracy and analytical skills;
  • Skills of financial analysis, understanding of accounting standards and financial statements of various businesses, experience in corporate finance;
  • Excellent report writing, communication and presentation skills, attention to detail;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of a team and handle multiple responsibilities, a proven record in project management;
  • A master's (or at least bachelor's) degree supported by experience in a relevant area.

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Previous experience in professional services (including but not limited to Big 4 Firm);
  • A degree in Finance or Accounting;
  • CFA/ACCA or similar financial qualification;
  • Experience in business valuations.
