The PROJECT DEVELOPMENT department, aligned with EDP Renewables, is hiring a PROJECT DEVELOPER ASSOCIATE.


The Project Developer Associate will carry out the necessary actions in the promotion of future Wind and/or Solar plants, in accordance with the Department's and Area Manager's guidelines, in order to contribute to the successful fulfillment of the business plan.

Manage the company's projects, from the identification of opportunities to the transfer to the Project Management Department (once approved internally / secured).

Detect business opportunities in line with market expectations.

  • DEVELOPMENT OF THE BUSINESS PLAN _
  • Collaborate in the identification of suitable geographical locations in which to construct wind and/or solar plants, to contribute to the achievement of the business plan objectives.
  • Participate and coordinate the representation in tenders, guaranteeing the efficiency of the offers. Maintain an updated database with detailed information about the projects using EDPR database and other management tools (Appian, PMT, etc.).
  • Monitor and properly manage the development budget of the projects assigned.
  • COORDINATION AND SUPPORT_


Ensure communication within the project team, EDPR departments, suppliers, and to all relevant stakeholders, efficiently developing the project assigned using EDPR standards.


  • IDENTIFY PROJECT OPPORTUNITIES/ DETECT M&A OPPORTUNITIES _
  • Explore new and relevant sites through targeted personal research or through results made available, with public and private stakeholders.
  • Understand in great detail competitors and the main participants in the renewables' business, to detect opportunities (purchase opportunities, market alterations, etc.), to foresee risks and threats to guarantee the company's competitive position. Identify and forge cooperation with other promotion companies.
  • Support the Head of Department in the market screening for both Wind and Solar projects and coordinateM&Atransactions.
  • PARTICIPATION IN DUE DILIGENCE PROCESSES_
  • Focal point to the company's internal pipeline or M&A Wind & Solar projects Due Diligence processes.
  • RELATIONS WITH THE AUTHORITIES & INSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATION _
  • Keep the progress on the projects under your control up to date, promote the interchange of information and ensure that the objectives are met. Establish a network of highlevel contacts with the different stakeholders with frequent ground presence.
  • Establish proper relations during project development and construction.
  • Represent the Company before transport and distribution energyproducing organizations and other organizations in the sector, local public, or private actors, and before Public Administration with the aim of defending the Company's strategic interests.

PERMITTING PROCESS

  • Initiate the launch of the procedures leading to the issuance of the Grid Connection Guarantee (TRC).
  • Keep the progress on the projects according to schedule and permitting process, promote the exchange of information and ensure that the objectives are met.

BUSINESS PLAN AND BUDGET ELABORATION

  • Take part in the definition and updating of the business plan and budget elaboration as regards the initiatives being developed; take on the responsibility of fulfilling the delivery time and project costs in the assigned areas.
  • Propose and support investment in those areas in order to achieve the objectives defined for the business unit.
  • Prepare and present project progress reports to the Executive Committee.
  • Participate in the project's approval process in Executive Committee providing technical inputs and risk analysis for the project assigned

What we are looking for:


  • University Degree in Eletrical and Computer Engineering or Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and Management (
    Mandatory);
  • Max. 5 years' experience in renewable energy projects' development stage (
    Mandatory);
  • Knowledge of M &A legal contracts, investment analysis and of development of renewable projects, Regulation & Markets, and energy management;
  • Good knowledge of MS Project, MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and Google Earth (
    Mandatory);
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, and ArcGIS (or similar) (preferred);
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Portuguese (
    Mandatory);
  • Good knowledge of Spanish (preferred);
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, communication, and negotiation skills;
  • Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize projects and meet deadline;
  • Highly independent and proactive individual.
