What you'll do
Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey to re-define the consumer experience in the automotive industry.

While Volvo is pushing the boundaries on several fronts; autonomous driving, vehicle electrification, cutting-edge vehicle engineering design, and more, some of the most exciting action is happening in the Digital area.

We are taking consumer-facing technology around the driving experience to new places and changing how people think about automotive transportation.


To achieve this, we are recruiting a Tech Lead for Volvo Cars in Portugal, whose purpose is the digital transformation.

You will report to the Digital Director and the role is primarily focused on project delivery in Portugal, but you will also work on international projects and collaborate with other Volvo markets.

You will implement digital products that support the company's overall business development and daily operations. You will contribute to a superior experience for the people who buy and drive a Volvo.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform business analysis and translate business requirements into detailed software functional specifications.
  • Explore emerging technologies and develop ProofofConcept.
  • Design, build, and deploy process automations.
  • Design, build, and deploy visualization/ BI reports. Prepare data for selfservice analytics.
  • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of existing digital products, including uptodate documentation.
  • Setup and configure DevOps pipelines/ continuous integration tools.
  • Support change management, upgrades and/or rollout of new digital solutions.
  • Coordinate projects and manage stakeholders.

What you'll bring
You have at least 5 years' experience in managing a wide variety of customer facing digital transformation projects. You are curious and enjoy collaborating across teams internally but also enjoy working on international projects. You are able to plan and prioritize various projects at a time and meet deadlines. You have experience integrating systems using APIs and ideally you have experience working in a Microsoft environment. You have experience working with Power BI.


Other requirements:

  • You have a degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Administration or similar. Data Analytics qualifications are desirable.
  • You have working experience with API REST, GraphQL and API testing (e.g., Postman).
  • You have working experience in querying large and complex data sets (SQL) and in data modelling.
  • Experience in scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is desirable.
  • Your skills in project management together with an experience of working in a multinational context will be an asset in this role.
  • Communication is a key to success, you communicate fluently in Portuguese, as well as English, both spoken and written.
  • Eagerness, culture of service, and sense of urgency is a must.
