    Job Details About the Role Kantar is looking for an experiencedSenior Data Engineer, considering the investment that is doing into Technology, Operations and Product.

    The selected candidate will join our engineering community, being able to enrich our Data Engineering practice, providing thought leadership in driving the future of our BrandNow and BrandSnapshotW

    Together you will be part of a Team that will be building, enhancing and supporting the next generation of our platform.

    This role is perfect for a highly qualified Data Engineer who loves work as a team whilst building sophisticated and simple solutions that scale

    Role Summary You will partner with our architects and product managers to implement our strategy, delivering new technical capabilities and services which will be instrumental to the end-to-end adoption and delivery of Kantar's bold Product roadmap.

    Reporting to Kantar's Technology division, this role will provide technical expertise to mature our Data area through the design, build and operationalization of pipelines, frameworks, and services.

    Key Responsibilities Engineering Excellence
    Act as an expertfor all aspects of Data Engineering and use your experience to advise strategy
    Play a key role in defining Data Engineering design patterns for data acquisition, transformation and serving
    Provide technical guidance and assurance to engineers, ensuring consistency and alignment to agreed standards and quality; actively contributing to all stages of the development lifecycle
    Collaborate with team members to translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical features for the data pipeline/product/application
    Hands-on: implementation of data applications, data pipelines, and involvement in code reviews, prototyping and spikes
    Actively be responsible for the implementation of common data models, data acquisition & transformation pipelines from design to delivery
    Drive continuous improvement of our internal data acquisition and transformation frameworks, our central function library and SDKs; ensuring roadmaps, features and technical debt items are captured, prioritised, and considered with future sprints
    Support in the hiring process for other Data Engineers
    Conform to the DRY programming principle and build re-usable templates through parameterisation and configurations
    Build data models that are optimal for various access patterns e.g. Data Analytics, Data Science, Applications – both real-time & batch
    Support change management and data governance activities
    Assess the impact on data models resulting from upstream changes or downstream consumption changes
    Operational & Delivery Excellence
    Verify requirements and produce Data Engineering implementation designs; support the creation of delivery and QA plans
    Engage regularly with stakeholders and platform support teams to verify future capacity planning considerations
    Identify and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes and optimising data pipeline/solution delivery where applicable
    Provide incident management oversight – root cause analysis, stakeholder communications, post-mortems, and lead preventative measures and resolutions
    Alignment with compliance and info-security principles, ensuring risk registers are maintained for all data pipelines and products
    Represent delivery changes at CAB (Change Advisory Board), ensuring all evidence and due diligence are included ahead of approval
    Supporting Strategy
    Support the architects in shaping the future of the data platform and aid in landing new capabilities into BAU – with consideration for people, process, and technology
    Identify relevant emerging trends and build compelling cases for adoption e.g. tool selection
    Involved in PoCs, prototypes and innovation spikes to seek directional outcomes
    Enabling Adoption
    Champion the Brandnow Product and raise awareness of the services we can offer, fostering trust externally with our stakeholders
    Serve as the technical expert and encourage standard methodologies within the product engineering teams
    Capabilities and Experience Demonstrated ability in a similar senior role
    Experience in operationalizing innovative Data Engineering solutions
    Experience using DevOps toolchains for managing CI/CD
    Experience with modern cloud data technology stacks e.g.,Azure, AWS, GCP
    Proficient in Python, Apache Spark, or any other distributed data programming frameworks
    In-depth understanding of data concepts, data structures, modelling techniques and how best to provision data to support varying consumption needs
    Accomplished ETL/ELT engineer – with commercial experience in building and architecting scalable data acquisition implementations at varying frequencies
    Experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks (preferably python API)

    Shown experience in putting a trong emphasis on high-quality application design – with a microservice mentality:
    coding for re-usability, modularity, testability, extendibility, and decoupling for portability
    Exposure to working with large complex and diverse datasets/types
    Experience with orchestration implementations e.g. Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, Airflow
    Possess an "automation-first" mindset when building solutions; considerations for self-healing and fault-tolerant methods to minimise manual intervention and downtime
    Proficient in using Test or Business Driven Development (TDD / BDD) approaches
    Fluency in English
