About the role:


Reporting to our EMEA Procurement Lead, the
Procurement Specialist will support the development and implementation of Procurement plans and strategies in line with our overall European business requirements, in addition to the added responsibility for ensuring the development and implementation of regional strategies and ensures Procurement standards and procedures are complied with.


The
Procurement Specialist is responsible for understanding and defining business requirements, in order to manage our Tactical Procurement Sourcing needs.

The role will use this understanding and knowledge to source additional new suppliers, agree terms of business, manage supplier performance in addition to creating and maintaining Orica Europe's existing supplier agreements.

The
Procurement Specialist supports the relationship between Procurement and Sourcing regarding coordination of commercial initiatives on relevant spend categories.


What you will be doing:


  • Support the development and embedment of the sourcing and category strategy;
  • Execute sourcing strategy to plan, whilst tracking and measuring results and success;
  • Conduct analysis of spend and other data to understand business requirements, trends, and opportunities to improve Procurement effectiveness and efficiency;
  • Ensure all Procurement activities comply with regulation and audit requirements;
  • Analyze data and engage stakeholders (internal and external) to quantify and validate requirements, opportunities, and risks;
  • Supplier Relationship and Performance Management;
  • Support Leadership team to develop executive papers and stakeholder business cases for strategic initiatives;
  • Lead specific projects across the Procurement team, prepare material for end user strategies and plans.

What you will bring:


  • Degree qualified. Procurement & Supply, Supply Chain/Logistics Management or Commercial Management (desirable);
  • Minimum of 4 years in a similar Purchasing or Procurement role;
  • Understanding and use of SAP transactions and reporting within a Purchasing/Procurement environment;
  • Proficiency in MS Office suites, particularly Excel
  • Excel operational experience highly regarded;
  • Ability to work with a degree of autonomy in remote team structures;
  • Stakeholder management, strategy development, tactical sourcing and implementation experience;
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving skills & business acumen;
  • Strong negotiation skills with a customer service focus.
