Lead the Oncology Division Medical Team.

  • Is Responsible for defining and executing the vision and strategy for the Set and execute Medical Affairs strategies for the Affiliate in the Therapeutic Area under her Responsibilities in continuous partnership with the key crossfunctional stakeholders.
  • Lead and manages the Medical Team (Medical Advisors, Medical Liaison and Contractors) who are specifically dedicated to the Therapeutic Areas.
  • Should ensure the effective implementation of the Company/Affiliate strategy for the Brand under his/her responsibility, setting goals, priorities and managing resources across TA and brand according to the defined plan, lifecycle and needs.
  • Is Responsible to ensure that the Onco Affiliate Medical team defines and executes the Functional Plan and ensure their effective participation to the crossfunctional activities (Brand Teams, In field Teams)
  • Provide strategic medical affairs support to crossfunctional affiliate partners in the Onco Team. Provide leadership, strategic direction and mentorship to direct reports, and fulfill line management responsibilities accordingly. Ensure that the medical affairs activities are fully integrated to support the strategy and execution of the Oncology affiliate business, while being functionally independent.
  • Is the Key Point of Contact for the Global and Area teams for the relevant Brands ensuring the input of the Affiliate in the cocreation activities and in sharing bestpractices is appropriately shared and effectively taken into consideration.
  • Is accountable for ensuring the implementation of the tactical plan for the relevant TAs/Brands, the implementation of the Local Evidence Team for the TAs/Brands under her responsibility, the coordination of the GAP Assessment Process and the definition, in accordance with the key stakeholders, of a Strategic Local Evidence Plan.
  • Partners with CCOM to identify and prioritize Development Studies for the Affiliate and ensure achievement of Medical Affairs objectives in the context of the 1R&D partnership.
  • Medical Degree (or equivalent scientific background); Strong background in clinical practice. Suitably qualified individuals from a scientific background and relevant experience will also be considered. Previous medical affairs pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry experience is essential, and management experience of medical teams & significant numbers of medical/scientific staff for 5 years (minimum) is expected.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a medical team and to work across different Diseases/TAs.
  • A broad and demonstrated understanding of drug development and commercialization processes, have sound and current knowledge of the regulatory environment, significant experience in overseeing or conducting clinical trials, a solid understanding of trial design and methodology and an understanding of the need to balance safety and efficacy concerns.
  • Must have a reputation for leading with high integrity, strong work ethics and compliant behaviour.
  • Must understand and be able to plan, manage and execute budgets effectively.
  • Collaborative, teamoriented approach, and will be adept at developing and supporting relationships across an organization as well as with key external stakeholders and the healthcare community. Experience being an active contributor to crossfunctional teams and/or working in matrix organizations will be essential.
  • A strong business orientation and acumen is desirable.
  • Good communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and oral English is highly desirable.
