The Powertrain Module in Vestas Power Solutions is responsible for developing the complete Vestas powertrain for both onshore and offshore wind turbines.

The module consists of 3 submodules, Lubrication & MBA (Main Bearing Arrangement), Gearbox, and Generator.

The Lubrication & MBA submodule is responsible and accountable for the design solutions of (i) the powertrain lubrication system, (ii) the main bearings and (iii) the structural components.


The Lubrication & MBA submodule team is located in four hubs, Aarhus in Denmark, Dortmund in Germany, Porto in Portugal and Chennai, India.

This position specifically is designated for the Main Bearing Arrangement team located in Porto.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operational planning and maintenance of the submodule execution together with the Functional Lead (FL), Tech Lead (TL) and Designer
  • Prepare the Clevel plan (know the project scope, Blevel plan, task delivery date, etc.)Maintain the project delivery framework (ADS, task, tasks descriptions, standard delivery list)
  • Maintain the project execution dashboards (JIRA dashboards, ECM dashboard, staffing/capacity dashboard)
  • Responsible for maintaining and reporting the project status for the submodule
  • Convey information between project and submodule project team
  • Support functional reviews and other relevant project meetings
  • Responsible for ensuring that project risks are collected and communicated.
  • Provide mitigation plan within the submodule
  • Support the SMO on strategic initiatives, reaching department goals and KPIs
  • Support SMO with ad hoc department assignments/tasks
  • Maintain SAP PPM
  • Conduct lessons learned session on submodule level

Qualifications

  • B.Sc., degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • You have industry experience within design (R&D)
  • Proficiency in Project Management
  • Good technical understanding
  • Experience with budgeting and resource management
  • Experience in crossfunctional team leadership and working with stakeholders
  • Ability to create detailed Gantt charts, flow diagrams and technical documentation
  • Specific work experience within the wind industry is beneficial but not required
  • Ability to work and take on multiple priorities
  • Fluency in English
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Competencies

  • Project management toolbox
  • PMP certification is beneficial but not required
  • Software's MS Project and Jira
  • ERP competence, e.g, SAP
  • Engineering Change Management
  • Risk Management
  • System Engineering
  • Quality development tools (requirements, DFMEA, verification, validation)
