BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a Internal Logistics Leader at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Performs daily operations related to customer service, distribution, import/export and order processing systems
  • Coordinates the launch of new logistics/distribution systems
  • Coordinates the transport of materials and finished products
  • Ensures the management of warehouses for raw materials, finished products, parts and others
  • Ensures the timely and efficient distribution of purchase materials in the warehouse, on the production lines, as well as the final product flow
  • Develops technical improvements in work processes and operations
  • Develops and maintains uptodate logistics/distribution databases
  • Performs the interface between several departments in the preparation and maintenance of program schedules
  • Establishes policies, standards, procedures and systems for planning and controlling material for all programs
  • 1Communicates with different departments to update material requirements for production projects and to change material plans and deadlines to prevent unforeseen conditions
  • Determines priorities considering the available material and current demands, to achieve the customer's contractual obligations and the operational objectives of the business
  • Advises and supports business leaders regarding tactical and strategic planning/scheduling/procurement loading activities.
  • Prepare inventory management objectives, statistics and material input budget
  • Promote efficient and open communication within the department and with other departments in the organization
  • 1Communicate and perform safe work procedures
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental standards, policies and practices according to the level of responsibility
  • Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, practice and working period
  • Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules
  • Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which they were hired, when the needs or convenience of service so warrant, for the period of time necessary for the aforementioned needs or convenience of service
Education & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Management, Business or related areas (preferable)
  • 5 or more years of production experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing or related field
  • Team supervision skills
  • Knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • High knowledge of automotive industry standards and customer requirements
  • Presentation, communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge in reading and interpreting drawings / technical plans

  • Availability to travel
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in Portuguese
