Role Purpose:

The TV HW Product Owner is responsible for defining the TV Hardware for Vodafone's TV & Entertainment products.

Interacting with HW partners in TV, is responsible for all set-top-box and dongle devices and accessories that support the products created by the Vodafone TV team.

He/She works in an agile team to create the best experience for our customers.

Owning a specific segment of the product, this role will help the team understanding the requirements from our customers and markets and then translate them to actionable product features that are developed in the TV HW devices.

The product owner will engage with senior stakeholders to guarantee alignment on best practices while providing the vision, innovation and guidance for this product vertical within the global TV business goals.

The Product Owner will fully manage the lifecycle of the Vodafone TV devices.

Main Responsibilities:

Able to translate business requirements into product requirements and define technical guardrails for technology teams ensuring that the Vodafone TV HW addresses the business requirements from Vodafone Markets.
Incorporate the best product approaches in the industry together with the technology and industrial design team. Expert decision maker in packaging, remote control, user guide, market certification and legal aspects of TV HW devices.
Able to take data driven decisions by himself/herself.
Participate as key stakeholder in the definition and evaluation of RFIs/RFQs/RFPs and drive product management and product strategy aspects. Own and drive specification documents that are used by development teams as main source of information for development activities.
Responsible for the alignment with product stakeholders within the agile setup, discussing negotiating and deciding on what gets done by when and engage with multiple OpCos and partners on an independent and senior level, understanding their needs and challenges.

Ideal Background:

Degree Level Education.
5+ years of TV experience in a relevant role.
Top product expert of Set Top Box TV and consumer electronics.
Good understanding of TV end to end components and standard.
Must be able to make himself/herself clearly understood in both oral and written form.
Master Agile principles and methodologies such as SAFe and SCRUM.
Strong background in low level STB software stacks (chipset SDKs, drivers and Android TV integration) is a plus.
Top expert in TV end user devices with strong analytical skills mainly focused in Set Top Boxes and accessories.
Expert in Set Top Box with strong connections in the industry to identify industry trends and innovations.
Strong background and insights around innovations in consumer electronics.
In depth knowledge on customer journey and optimizing the unboxing experience.
Deep knowhow of the TV industry, lead product, commercial and technical discussions with major suppliers and take ownership of product decisions.
Fluent in English and Portuguese.
