The opportunity:

Uphold is looking for a Junior Cyber Security Analyst to join our Cyber Security team. This is an exciting opportunity where you will play a crucial role in our cybersecurity efforts.

You will work closely with senior analysts to monitor our networks for security breaches, investigate security incidents, and contribute to the development of strategies to protect our digital assets.

This position is ideal for a tech-savvy individual looking to kickstart their career in cybersecurity and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.


What you'll be doing primarily:


  • Monitor security access and perform security log analysis to identify unauthorized access attempts.
  • Assist in the investigation of security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
  • Implement security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and endpoint protection software.
  • Work with the cybersecurity team to perform tests and uncover network and software vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and protocols.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance through all applicable standards.
  • Stay updated on IT security trends and news, including awareness of new security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Write and maintain standards and other technical documentation.

Required qualifications:


  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and technologies.
  • Understanding of firewalls, antimalware, and cloud security concepts.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
  • Problemsolving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Some experience with cybersecurity tools (e.g., SIEM) and understanding of security protocols and principles is preferred.
  • A keen interest in cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
  • Fluent written and oral English skills.

Bonus if you have:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages (Python, Java, or C++) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with computer network penetration testing and techniques.
  • Bug bounty findings or contributed to responsible vulnerability disclosures.
  • Fluency in cryptocurrencies or other digital assets as they are core to our business.
  • Community talks, certifications, and/or blog posts on your interests and research.
  • Open source project contributions of any kind, such as tools developed to solve specific problems you've had or fixing issues on existing projects.
  • Relevant Security Certifications (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, SANS GIAC, OSCP)
