About the Role


As HR Business Partner, you'll be responsible for all HR matters at the location and contact person for approximately 150 employees on-site in the factory and local Marketing & sales teams.

You support and advise the plant management and leadership team on all operational, tactical, and strategic personnel matters, personnel planning.

In this role, you will report to the European Manufacturing HR Lead.

You are the main point of contact for the workers council negotiations, CLA discussions, and payroll administration, therefore experience with the Portuguese (HR) laws & regulations is a must.


  • Independent administration of all personnel measures, such as hiring, transfers, and terminations in collaboration with supervisors and the local works council
  • Support for organizational development processes such as employee surveys: analyzing the results and developing solutions and the annual performance and development discussions.
  • Participation in sitespecific and crosssite projects
  • Recruiting and onboarding of new employees, determine training and development needs and monitoring training process for current employees.
  • Initiate and lead BEM discussions

***You will match Upfield if you have a strong sense of resilience, you are a self-starter and bring a goal-getting mentality. You are ready to drive the HR deliverables the extra mile. You bring experience from an industry or operations background and experience within food manufacturing is a pre. You speak and write fluent English and your understanding in Portuguese is good. Most important is that you also bring strong expertise in Portuguese Law. You are a team player, strong communicator and trustworthy business partner.

  • Relevant degree (business administration, economics/ labor and/ or organizational psychology or similar)
  • High solution orientation and negotiation skills
