    Job Description

    1. Responsibility
    Our customers are very demanding when it comes to buying high-quality items. You will use tact and taste in advising them what to choose from our extensive range of brand-name textiles, perfumes and cosmetics or accessories. As well as offering advice, you must make sure that the merchandise on view is presented to create a suitable ambience and pleasant atmosphere.

    2. Duties

    • Actively selling and advising customers throughout the shop, with good powers of persuasion and a friendly attitude, as well as being clearly focused on successfully concluding a sale (expert advice, actively approaching customers, offering wide-ranging advice, related sales)
    • Responsible organisation of your own Shop department in consultation with the Shop Manager
    • Responsible organisation of your own stock area (stock management) in consultation with the Shop Manager
    • Constantly updating/refining merchandise presentation
    • Dressing the shop, the shop window, and the display cabinets in consultation with the Shop Manager
    • Ensuring that quality merchandise is supplied in the correct quantities by passing on to the Shop Manager information from clearance sales and from meeting customer demand
    • Correct implementation of payment transactions
    • Carrying out stocktaking duties
    • Cleaning the shops and stores
    • Increasing guest satisfaction
    • Helping out with sales promotion campaigns
    • Complying with safety regulations; taking part in safety drills
    Qualifications

    3. Qualifications/professional experience

    • Minimum of two (2) years' experience on board a cruise ship in similar position required
    • Strong team spirit
    • Fluent in written and spoken English. German is a Plus
    • Any additional foreign language skills are a plus.
    • Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills.
    • Must have very good administrative skills (proficient in Microsoft Office). Knowledge in MXP / POS is a plus.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
    • Must be service minded with an outgoing, charming and friendly personality.
