What you can expect:

• As part of your role, you will have the opportunity to establish a strong and capable operational team from scratch, and coordinate as well as optimize the operational activities.
• You will establish a local center of expertise to monitor customs and VAT legislation, drive knowledge sharing, identify new business opportunities, and enhance service levels and quality assurance.
• You will be responsible for acquiring the necessary customs authorizations and guarantees, as well as making decisions on the implementation of new or revised customs regulations and legislation.
• Your tasks also include analyzing existing processes from a cost and simplification perspective and formulating customs technical solutions that reconcile business opportunities with customs formalities or consultancy.
• You will perform customs trade risk analyses, manage budget and costs for financial stability, and contribute to the preparation of annual budgets.
• Lastly, you are going to ensure a smooth and serviceoriented followup and handling of escalated complaints and disputes regarding internal & external customs matters.

What you bring:

• You are licensed as customs broker in Portugal and have a strong professional experience and extensive knowledge of customs legislation and VAT legislation, as well as knowledge of national and international legislation.
• A master's or bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required for the job.
• You are uptodate regarding knowledge of local and EU customs regulations, customs documents, and customs tariffs and have sound knowledge of air, sea, and road freight.
• Furthermore, you work independently, are stressresistant and handy with various professional software packages.
• Ideally, you speak both English and Portuguese fluently and know the specific terminology.
• In addition to your excellent social and communication skills, you are eager to learn and have a nononsense mentality.
