Inflammatix, Inc. is a venture-backed diagnostics company bringing the power of precision medicine to the point of care. We are building novel diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive HostDx tests that combine rapid detection of host mRNA panels with advanced machine learning. These tests will be performed on our rapid point-of-care platform instrument currently under development. Our first HostDx tests focus on enabling physicians to better diagnose acute infections and sepsis. Beyond these high impact tests, Inflammatix plans to develop a pipeline of tests that take advantage of our expertise in reading the immune system that will be added to the same testing platform.


SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician
to support the prototyping, testing and data collection for optimization of our molecular in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) products.

This role is mostly lab-based in our Lisbon facility. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a flexible and fast-paced startup environment.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assembly of cartridge and/or instrument prototypes, using a variety of assembly techniques and materials, as required to support new product development.
• Testing of product prototypes, systematic data collection and reporting.
• Build, test and maintain prototyping assembly fixtures & tools.
• Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area.
• Participation in assembly process troubleshooting and optimization, as needed.
• Active participation in workflow definition with process efficiency and prototype quality as focal points.
• Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.
• Work alongside and follow directions from technical manager and engineers.
• Execute tasks according to development team plans and schedules.
• Collaborating in a thoughtful, professional manner with team members to achieve group goals and meet timelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g. Physics, Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, Biomedical, Biological)
• Proficient in English, oral and written.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail, selfmotivation, interpersonal and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline or relevant professional experience
• Experience with handling of biological reagents
• Experience with microfabrication (CNC, Laser Welding, Bonding, 3D printing)
• Experience with assembly techniques such as heat staking, laser welding, adhesive bonding
