Role purpose:


The Product Delivery Manager will lead and work with individual product owners to expand, uplift and develop the product perspective across this cohort of individuals, in addition to nurturing existing core systems knowledge and shared delivery activity responsibilities.

This role will ensure the squads have sufficient end-to-end product and analysis expertise to enable autonomy and ownership within the squads.

The role will support and help the product owners to work with stakeholders to identify challenging problems and opportunities, analyse and understand current processes and systems, continue to develop strong knowledge of our platform capabilities, and ensure they are enabled to execute their role effectively.


The role will facilitate the Product Community forums, structures and mechanisms for product professionalisation, systems understanding, and analysis competency across the squads, with a focus on sharing experiences, knowledge and skills.

The role at times may be asked to contribute in a Product Owner capacity on those initiatives or objectives that require product consultation, and to maintain direct experience of the role.


The role will work closely with other senior contributors across Product, Delivery, and Engineering, consulting with Architecture, QA and Service Operations, to ensure our people are being developed in alignment with the Tribe vision and strategy.

The role will work closely with the Product Director to ensure effective collaboration between Product Owners and Product Managers across value streams.

The role will also work closely with the Technology Director and Technology Leadership team to ensure effective collaboration between Engineering Managers, Delivery Leads, Product Managers and Product Owners.


Accountabilities:


  • Ensuring the quality and effectiveness of Product Owner activities across the delivery lifecycle (from 'ideation & strategic alignment' through to 'transition & evolution');
  • Recruitment, onboarding, engagement and retention of Product Owner roles;
  • Work with the Product Director to establish, maintain and improve the tribe's Product Community;
  • Work with the Head of Planning & Delivery and Senior Engineering Managers to ensure product owner alignment and development to broader Tribe delivery ways of working;
  • Supporting Product Owners and their squads in finding solutions to complex challenges by employing best practice product and analysis approaches whilst aligned to agile delivery methodology;
  • Professional development of the Product Owners (coaching & mentoring, development plans, performance);
  • Provide clear communication, team leadership, and mentoring skills for the Product Owner team;
