    THE TEAM The Performance Analytics Team is dedicated to helping the underwriting community make the best decisions possible with the support of data analytics.

    We're a European team based in Lisbon but working with seven sales countries. Our team is agile, flexible, and always up for a challenge.

    We have three major functions - pricing, exposure management, and portfolio management - that help us provide valuable insights to our stakeholders.

    THE ROLE This role will report to the European Head Performance Management and lead the Exposure Management function in Europe.

    It is suited for a senior associate with a background on actuarial / stats modelling who wants to broaden their technical knowledge across the three exposure management areas (property, cyber and casualty) and gain exposure to Europe's senior underwriting executives.

    The successful candidate is expected to evolve to a manager position.
    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the development of the area's capabilities, including methodologies, data, tools and processes (examples would be overlaying EQ peril maps to the property exposure or providing business focussed detail on the outputs of the existing Cyber realistic disaster scenarios);
    Be the European point of contact on exposure management topics, relying on subject matter experts for additional detail when needed;
    Develop a good understanding of the main types of reinsurance and how to model their impact;
    Deliver any ad-hoc work (eg. ultimate loss estimates or exposure potentially affected by natural catastrophe events);
    Ensure the delivery of BAU reporting;
    Manage and mentor an analyst.
    PERSON SPECIFICATION 4+ years of experience in insurance on exposure management or actuarial functions;
    Experience with data analysis and statistical tools such as SQL and/or R/python;
    Able to lead a function, including defining timelines, project priorities, alignment on dependencies with other teams and managing the day to day of an analyst;
    Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with stakeholders;
    Able to articulate technical topics to non-technical audiences;
    Outcome oriented;
    Organized and methodical.
