My name is David Gonçalves, a Portuguese software developer. I am passionate about creating new things from where nothingness was before. Most of my time is spent in front of the computer screen, but somehow I still spare time for other activities.

I have a strong will to learn new technologies and their workings. As a hobbyist in my free time, I like to work on small non-commercial programming related projects that broaden my experiences as a developer.

Software Developer – Decskill (Nov 2022 – Apr 2023)

Software development for telecommunications services, skimming through the SIP and Diameter protocols. Working in a fast-paced environment with an Agile Scrum methodology. Tasks include designing SIP call flows, researching the origin of bugs in C++ code, writing provisioning tests in Java for specific call flow scenarios, and migrating one Diameter stack to another in a simulator.

Software Developer – Tickingbot Oy (Mar 2022 – Aug 2022)

C++ developer for embedded systems, with focus on C++17, CMake, GoogleTest, Doxygen, Git, and Jira. Developing software for the operation of a CNC vertical milling machine within a small-sized team. Tasks include the integration of static and dynamic analysis tools into the project's build automation system, documenting old and new code, developing new features, writing unit tests with the GoogleTest testing framework, and reviewing the team's code for quality assurance.

Programmer Analyst – Link Consulting (Oct 2016 - Nov 2017)

Trainee consultant with focus on VB.NET, ASP.NET, and SQL Server. Technical management of a wage processing application and derivatives, including database administration, code maintenance and improvement, in a production environment. Close contact with clients and support.
