With a scholarship from EFSD Albert Renold Travel Fellowships – European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes, I conducted research on the impact of early physical activity and a high-fat diet, both independently and in combination, on insulin resistance. My focus was on understanding how these interventions influenced glucose, lipid, and protein metabolism in the early stages of life and their subsequent effects on metabolism later in life. Additionally, I acquired proficiency in employing the OROBOROS technique to study mitochondrial respiration in cells and tissues, enhancing my ability to investigate cellular metabolic processes.
