Controller - Commercial Business Office

Mission:


Project Evaluation & Post Investment Review, part of Commercial Business Unit Business Office, leads the Investment Management Cycle of the Commercial Unit, from its approval to post-mortem analysis, across Iberia and Africa.


Role

  • Assist the Business Units in evaluating and structuring projects and partnerships from the operational, economic and financial point of view;
  • Update and Develop financial valuation models and prepare approval process to support and effective decision making process;
  • Analyze and evaluate projects/assets historical performance, focusing on critical business variables;
  • Engage internally with Business Units and corporate areas (Accounting, Tax, Legal, etc), in order to analyze the relevant question of each project and being responsible for the endtoend process;
  • Support the preparation of internal presentations and discussions on investment opportunities to be presented to Galp's senior management;
  • Prepare Investments reporting and analysis around the status and follow up of the projects and explore delays to the BDG and mitigation actions;
  • Participate in the capex business plan, challenging Investment's allocation, returns criteria and strategic fit;
  • Participate in Business Unit/Groupwide projects, ensuring alignment with the Strategy of the Business Unit, ensuring communication and representation of the area;
  • Follow industry trends and developments and introduce best practices within the Investment cycle.

What we are looking for

  • Highly motivated individuals with outstanding academic credentials in a reputable institution (with a Master's degree, preferably in Management, Finance, Economics or Engineering) and professional accomplishments;
  • Knowledge and interest in finance concepts and willingness to quickly learn and disseminate knowledge;
  • At least 1 years of experience in an analytical role, with exposure to advanced financial modeling;
  • Past experience in Corporate Finance areas;
  • Financial expertise, commercial acumen, market understanding and negotiating skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability and confidence to connect well with business partners and senior stakeholders;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint and Word);
  • Strong English language communication skills, oral and written;
  • Passionate and ambitious selfstarter, taking ownership of projects, with a strong drive for excellence;
  • Think strategically, seeing the bigger picture and setting goals and objectives to develop and improve the business;
  • Sharp communications skills, in particular to summarize complex transactions to senior management;
  • Ability to handle different projects simultaneously and providing deliverables under tight deadlines;
  • Structured and analytical thinker, with excellent attention to detail;
  • Team player, resilient under pressure and with strong professional ethics and integrity.
