  • Continue accelerating and enhancing our Platform as a Service for Vodafone customers on footprint.
  • Launch service proposition in markets that are off Vodafone's current footprint (US and France).
  • Address long tail lower volume segment through digital self-service platform globally.

    • The successful candidate will be part of an engineering team responsible for design, integration and optimisation of IoT Connectivity solutions, involving both the Network and IT platforms that support Vodafone IoT Services. The main functions will be related to improving and evolving the Connectivity service delivered to Vodafone IoT customers, assuring the proper dimensioning for the IoT platforms, guaranteeing capacity is used efficiently and new services and capabilities are delivered efficiently in time.

    Accountabilities:

  • Delivering Core Services systems & projects focused in the IITC (Internet In the Car) solution, against cost, time and quality
  • Technical performance engineering - to engineer in-life performance improvements (availability, capacity, reliability, security)
  • Make sure that deliverables support the required business outcome at all points of consumption within a journey
  • Make sure all component comply with requirements to address non-functional impacts performance and reliability.

    • Main Interfaces:

  • Peer teams in IoT Connectivity such as other domains, Architecture, Infrastructure, Product and Delivery Teams
  • Group Networks Teams, along with Transport & Backbone Networks
  • Group Data Center Teams
  • Demand Management teams (LPM) to understand upcoming demand and initiatives
  • Network Application Operations (IT and network operations teams)
  • IoT Digital Services, IoT Partnerships, and senior executives in Vodafone Business and Technology.

    • What you'll do

  • Improve the Connectivity service delivered to Vodafone IoT customers
  • Assure the proper dimensioning for the owned IoT platforms, guaranteeing capacity is used efficiently
  • Guarantee owned IoT Connectivity platforms can cope with new products being delivered to IoT customers
  • Manage stakeholders and vendors as required for the technical delivery and report project progress & activities.

    • Who you are

  • Relevant university degree (, etc).
  • Technical expertise on Mobile core Networks including 2G/3G/4G/5G/NB-IoT/Cat-M and OSS
  • Diameter, Radius, SMPP, P2P Protocols knowledge
  • Multiple year experience in delivery of distributed architecture solutions
  • Expertise on Agile development methods and practices
  • Proven experience in delivery and tuning of complex technologies and complex real time, highly transactional, retail, distributed architecture stacks
  • Good knowledge of mobile networks and business support systems
  • Able to work well within a multinational, multicultural environment
  • Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies, especially SAFe, desirable
  • Experience in complex international programmes: the role holder will need to be able to work laterally with technical (engineering and operations) and business functions (line of business, finance) within Vodafone.

    • Desirable knowledge/experience:

  • IoT platforms
  • Technical expertise on IT stack (backend and frontend) and BSS desirable
  • Automotive connectivity solutions
  • Experience designing virtualised or cloud architectures, cloud-native containerised microservices and driven by open APIs.

    • Soft skills:

  • Consultative, customer-focused design mind-set
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, to technical, business and (senior) management audience
  • Strong work planning- and time management skills.
